Former Lebanon Co. Probationer Charged With 31 Sexual Offenses Against Children In LanCo.

A Manheim man with a criminal record in Lebanon County has been released on bail after being charged with 31 offenses in connection with the sexual abuse of children— whom he was the parent or guardian, court records show.

Daniel Earl Edwards was arrested by Northern Lancaster County Regional police and detectives on Tuesday, Nov. 7, following criminal investigations by the Lancaster County district attorney's office, as well as child advocacy and child welfare agencies, according to the police department. 

He was charged four misdemeanors for Corruption of Minors as well as 27 felonies including:

  • Endangering Welfare of Children -  Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense (4 Counts).
  • Unlawful Contact With Minor - Sexual Offenses (4 Counts).
  • Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age (8 Counts).
  • Aggravated Indecent Assault of Child   (3 Counts)
  • Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse With a Child (4 Counts).
  • Rape of a Child (4 Counts).

Edwards was briefly held in the Lancaster County Prison before being released on $225,000 in a surety bond to cover his bail, according to his latest court docket. 

He has a criminal record in Lebanon County which includes a year of probation served in 1989 for Possession of Instrument Of Crime With Intent, Terroristic Threats, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Criminal Mischief, court records show.

His preliminary hearing in this most recent case has been scheduled before Magestrial District Judge Edward A. Tobin on Nov. 22 at 1 p.m., as detailed on his court docket.
